is funded by local donations from individuals, civic groups, businesses,
client and participant contributions, Johnson County United Way, Greater
Ennis United Way, West Ellis County United Way, Johnson County Commissioners'
Court, Ellis County Commissioners’ Court, Combined Federal Campaign, State
Employees Charitable Campaign, private foundations, and shrinking federal
and state grants. Fund raising efforts include the Annual Appeal, “Wheels
for Meals,” as well as the Annual Golf Benefit
and Ellis County BBQ Benefit.
You can support our special work in a variety of ways. An outright gift
of cash, stock or personal property can be put to immediate use. Also,
you can designate your gift as a Memorial Gift or an Honor Gift for someone
special or a Celebration Gift for a special occasion. A Planned Gift for
the future can allow you to make a larger gift than would otherwise be
possible - perhaps with income or estate tax benefits or with variable
or fixed income for your life or the life of someone you care about.
Giving to Meals-on-Wheels Just Got Easier!
We are pleased to announce our new donor program called Direct Give. For those who donate on a regular basis (or would like to) Direct Give is the way to go.
You can help feed your elderly and disabled homebound neighbors through Direct Give by having your gift deducted from your checking or savings account directly to Meals-on-Wheels. We can also set up a draft from your credit card if you choose. You decide the amount and the frequency. And best of all, your donation will be put to work immediately by saving time, paper and postage. A record of each gift will appear on your bank or credit card statement. Both options are secure and reliable and provide our program with your sustaining support.
Just like our volunteers are our “eyes and ears,” our monthly donors are our “backbone.” They make providing meals to over 750 homebound individuals everyday possible.
“With the introduction of Direct Give, we are providing our donors with one more convenient way to support Meals-on-Wheels,” said Faris.
If you have any questions about this program, please contact Amy Jackson at 817-558-2840 or 972-351-9943 for more information or click here to donate today. Every gift, whatever the size, does make a difference!
Copies of our Donors' Bill of Rights Policy, Annual Fiscal Audit, and the 990 Tax Exempt Return are available upon request. The 990 Tax Exempt Return is also available at Guidestar.com.
