Your support of this year’s Golf Benefit will greatly assist us in delivering over 200,000 meals to the poorest and frailest people we have ever served in the last 33 years. You can be assured that your sponsorship will help us provide a greater quality of life for those we serve.

Meals-on-Wheels and its Title Sponsor, Community Bank, is set for the 23rd Annual Golf Benefit. The event will be held on Thursday, September 16 at Cleburne Golf Links. Registration for the benefit is open and morning and afternoon tee times are still available. Early bird registration is until August 27. Like years passed, golfers are promptly signing up for the morning and afternoon flights. 

"We encourage signing up early to make certain of your place," said Meals-on-Wheels director of development, Amy Jackson. Registration can be done online at www.servingthechildrenofyesterday.org or by contacting the Meals-on-Wheels offices.

There will be morning and afternoon shotgun starts at 7:30 AM and 1:30 PM, and will follow a four player scramble format. Each player’s entry fee includes green fee, ½ art, a t-shirt, cold drinks and food throughout the day—and chances at $5,000 in prizes! This year's golfer package also includes two mulligans and two chances to win sporting event tickets, airfare for two, and other great prizes. 

The community looks forward to the Golf Benefit every year, according to Ike Vera, Golf Chairman. "We have a great day planned with prizes and additional surprises," said Vera. "We will again have lots of our famous chicken sandwiches, cold beverages, and great giveaways all day long," he added, "but most importantly, all proceeds will benefit Meals-on-Wheels."

The Golf Benefit's proceeds, raised from golfers and sponsorships, will help Meals-on-Wheels provide over 250,000 meals for the elderly and disabled residents throughout Johnson & Ellis County.
