Golf Benefit is Full!
The field for the 18th Annual Meals-on-Wheels Golf Benefit, set
for September 10, at Lake Pat Cleburne Golf Course, is full! “At
two weeks away from the date, we have no spots available for the
morning or afternoon!” said Mike Lehrmann, Golf Benefit Chairperson.
The Benefit was limited to the first 66 teams to register, and registrations
were accepted until the field is full, on a first come first served
basis.
“Although our field is full, it is not too late to still
sign up as a Hole or Friend Sponsor of the Benefit,” said
Amy Jackson, director of development for Meals-on-Wheels. “We
also always need people willing to volunteer to work the event,”
she added.
$5000 in prizes will be given away to the top three teams in two
flights, along with a $500 cash prize for the “closest-to-the-pin”
winners, morning and afternoon. In addition, there will be other
opportunities to win Southwest Airline tickets, sporting event tickets,
and other great prizes throughout the day. All golfers are reminded
to bring extra money the day of the event for additional chances
to win.
This year’s Title Sponsor is Community Bank, and top sponsors
include: Atmos Energy, MAGO Construction, KTFW Radio, and KMP Graphics,
Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Hallwood Energy, First State Bank
Texas, Star-Telegram, Best Homes, Caddo Street Grill, Accents,
Pete Durant & Associates, Bank of America, Times-Review,
First State Bank of Grandview, Pilgrim’s Pride, Jeff England
Motor Company, The Star Group newspapers, Valley Innovative
Services, Cleburne Lions Club, and Wells Fargo.
“On behalf of Meals-on-Wheels, we truly appreciate this
year’s turnout in support of Meals-on-Wheels, and look forward
to an exciting day of golf,” added Lehrmann. All proceeds
will directly benefit Meals-on-Wheels services.
