Chicken Express and Meals-on-Wheels team up for Holiday Meals
Chicken Express restaurants throughout Johnson and Ellis counties are helping those in need with by partnering with Meals-on-Wheels to put a hot meal in the hands of every needy person in the two-county area. The participating locations include Alvarado, Burleson, Cleburne, Joshua, Waxahachie, Midlothian, Ennis, and Venus. Overall, over 600 noontime meals will be prepared and served the week of Christmas. Starting Monday, December 21, Meals-on-Wheels volunteers will be delivering the meals into all of our service areas.
"As part of this community, we see the need to help those hungry, and in particular, the elderly,” said John Sparks, Ellis County area manager. "And, I think this is a great collective effort among all the store managers and owners to provide to those that are needy. We are happy to be a part,” he added.
"We are very excited about this project with Chicken Express!” said Amy Jackson, Meals-on-Wheels director of development. "Our clients will be delighted to receive a special treat," she added.
